We are Massachusetts farmers marketing locally grown 'Cape American' beachgrass for coastal dune protection and restoration.
Named for Cape Cod Massachusetts, this native beachgrass, Ammophila breviligulata, has "out-performed all other varieties for conservation plantings from Maine to North Carolina (USDA, Natural Resource Conservation Service 2006)."
We apologize to our regular customers for being difficult to reach for beachgrass orders. We are not able to take orders for spring 2026 in advance as we usually do.
In the 23 years we have been growing and selling beachgrass, this was the most destructive winter season we have ever experienced as I am sure it was for those on the beach as well.
For a full 2 months plus, a heavy snow and ice glacier sat on our beachgrass field. We didn't see the grass until March and most of it was crushed. Oh, it will survive and regrow, but most is not saleable in the condition it's in, short and broken. We are salvaging some, but it is slow going. The grass doesn't put on height until soil temps' approach 55. We may have just hit that. We expect to be able to fill a few small orders in April into May and that is getting late to plant.
We are sorry for the inconvenience; we sure would like to fill your orders next year.

Beachgrass is paid in advance either by check or paypal. We can send you an invoice upon request and will acknowledge payment. Planting instructions available upon request and we will try to answer any questions. In most cases pick-up is required however shipping can be arranged for a fee upon request.
